This study tested a new behavioral program called SEMAT that teaches people with early-stage Alzheimer's or mild cognitive impairment how to use memory aids like calendars and lists. The goal was to help them stay independent longer. Sixty-eight older adults took part, and researchers measured changes in daily functioning and strategy use.
