First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests whether rinsing with virgin coconut oil can prevent severe mouth sores (oral mucositis) in children and young adults aged 7-26 who are getting high-dose chemotherapy before a bone marrow transplant. Participants will either use standard mouth rinses or add coconut oil rinses to their routine. The goal is to see if coconut oil reduces the severity of mouth sores and helps maintain normal eating.
