New device aims to help critically ill patients breathe easier

Summary
This study is testing a medical device called PrismaLung+ that helps remove excess carbon dioxide from the blood of critically ill patients who are on breathing machines. The research will compare patients using the device along with standard ventilator care against those using only the ventilator. The goal is to see if the device safely helps improve blood gas levels and reduces the time patients need ventilator support.
