Summary

This study is testing whether using a specific blood measurement called the CO2 gap is better than the current standard (lactate level) for guiding early emergency treatment in patients with septic shock. It will involve 750 adult ICU patients with severe sepsis and low blood pressure. Researchers hope the CO2 gap method will help doctors make faster, more accurate treatment adjustments to improve survival and reduce organ damage.
