Brain scan breakthrough could match psychosis patients to their best drug

Summary
This study aims to see if a specific brain activity pattern, called Biotype-1, can predict which people with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder with psychosis will respond exceptionally well to the medication clozapine. About 320 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either clozapine or another antipsychotic (risperidone) to compare their responses. The goal is to create a more personalized way to treat serious mental illnesses by matching patients to the medication most likely to help them.
