NCT ID NCT01950845
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether an automated closed-loop system could manage intravenous fluids better than an anesthesiologist during high-risk abdominal surgery. 46 adults undergoing major abdominal procedures were randomly assigned to either the automated system or standard care. The main goal was to compare heart function (cardiac output) during surgery, and researchers also looked at complications, hospital stay length, and other outcomes.
