Emergency room migraine breakthrough? anxiety drug tested for headache relief

NCT ID NCT04726592

Summary

This study tested whether adding clorazepate, a medication typically used for anxiety, to standard emergency room migraine treatment would provide better pain relief. The trial involved 323 adults with moderate to severe migraine attacks who came to the emergency room. Participants received either the standard treatment plus clorazepate or the standard treatment plus a placebo, with neither patients nor doctors knowing which they received.
