Summary
This large study is testing if the blood thinner clopidogrel can prevent first-time heart attacks, strokes, or death in people who have early signs of heart artery plaque but no symptoms. It will enroll over 11,000 adults aged 40+ who had this plaque found on a heart scan. The goal is to see if taking this medication is safe and effective for preventing major heart problems in this at-risk group.
