Blood thinner may save lifesaving dialysis access
NCT ID NCT03289520
Summary
This study tested whether the blood thinner clopidogrel could prevent early blood clots in newly created dialysis fistulas. It involved 877 adults with kidney failure who needed a fistula for hemodialysis. Researchers wanted to see if taking clopidogrel for six weeks after surgery would help the fistula stay open and become usable for dialysis treatments.
