Race against time: new drug aims to tame dangerous blood pressure spikes after brain bleeds

NCT ID NCT06402968

Summary

This study is testing if a fast-acting intravenous (IV) drug called clevidipine can control dangerously high blood pressure more quickly and steadily than other standard IV medications in people who have just had a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain. It will enroll 1,000 adults who arrive at the hospital within 12 hours of stroke symptoms. The main goal is to see if clevidipine helps patients reach a safe, stable blood pressure range within the first critical hour of treatment.
