First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is testing a new tool called CLEAR to see if it can better predict when people with severe COPD can safely stop using a breathing machine. Researchers will study 400 adults in the ICU who are ready to try breathing on their own. The goal is to improve decision-making and reduce the risk of breathing failure after support is removed.
