Simple blood test may spot hidden cancer after surgery
NCT ID NCT06730412
First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new blood test (liquid biopsy) to see if it can find small amounts of cancer left behind after surgery in people with HPV-related head and neck cancer. 103 patients who had surgery to remove their cancer gave blood samples. The goal was to see if the test could predict if the cancer would come back or affect survival. The results could help doctors decide who needs extra treatment after surgery.
