Clear aligners offer new hope for smiles in brittle bone disease
NCT ID NCT04815564
Summary
This study is testing whether Invisalign clear aligners are a safe and effective way to straighten teeth for people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. Traditional braces are often too risky for people with OI because their tooth enamel is fragile. Researchers are enrolling 57 people with OI, aged 12-40, who have misaligned teeth but have never had orthodontic treatment before. The goal is to create the first treatment guidelines for using clear aligners in this population.
