NCT ID NCT03713424

Summary

This study is investigating whether clavulanic acid, a component of some antibiotics, can help adult smokers reduce their cigarette use. Researchers will use brain imaging (fMRI) to see how the substance affects brain activity related to smoking cues. The study involves 30 participants who smoke at least 10 cigarettes daily and will compare clavulanic acid against a placebo.
