Summary

This study tests whether clavulanic acid, a medication used in some antibiotics, can help adult smokers reduce their cigarette intake. Thirty participants will receive either the drug or a placebo and will have brain scans to see how their brain responds to smoking-related images. The goal is to see if the drug lowers smoking and changes brain activity linked to addiction.
