First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests the Clareon TruPlus lens in 35 adults over 45 who need cataract surgery and previously had laser eye surgery for nearsightedness. The lens is designed to improve vision at various distances and reduce the need for glasses. Participants will be followed for 3 months after surgery to measure visual sharpness and satisfaction.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Clareon TruPlus intraocular lens (IOL)

What this could lead to

If successful, this lens could provide clearer vision and less need for glasses after cataract surgery in people who previously had laser eye surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early study with only 35 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply to everyone. Risks include typical cataract surgery complications like infection or inflammation.
