First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tested whether adding structured psychological support to standard care can improve quality of life for people on dialysis who suffer from moderate to severe itching caused by chronic kidney disease. Sixteen adults on hemodialysis were randomly assigned to receive either usual care or usual care plus psychological sessions. The main goal was to see if the extra support reduced how bothersome the itching felt after six months.
