NCT ID NCT07186660
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a new drug called CIR-0602K can help people with type 1 diabetes keep their blood sugar in a healthy range and reduce their insulin needs. The trial involves 40 adults aged 18-45 who already use an automated insulin pump. Half will get the drug and half a placebo, and researchers will compare glucose control and insulin use over the study period.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CIR-0602K (a mitochondrial pyruvate carrier inhibitor)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could lead to better blood sugar control and lower insulin doses for people with type 1 diabetes using automated insulin pumps.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not improve glucose control or could cause side effects.
