Can a leg sleeve accurately track your walk?

NCT ID NCT06503354

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study checked if the Cionic Neural Sleeve, a wearable device, correctly measures walking speed, stride length, and step rate. Twenty-nine adults walked at different speeds while wearing the sleeve and on a special pressure-sensitive mat. The goal was to see if the sleeve's readings match the mat's accurate measurements, so users can rely on the device to track their walking progress.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Cionic Neural Sleeve (wearable device)

What this could lead to

If the sleeve's measurements are accurate, users can trust their gait reports to track walking changes over time.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early validation study with only 29 healthy adults. Results may not apply to people with walking impairments, and inaccuracies could limit the device's usefulness.
