CHEMO-FREE BREAKTHROUGH? new trial offers hope for breast cancer patients to skip harsh drugs

NCT ID NCT07432178

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests if a targeted drug (CDK4/6 inhibitor) combined with hormone therapy can replace chemotherapy for women with small but high-risk ER-positive breast cancer. About 2,288 participants will either receive the new drug combo or standard chemo plus hormones. The goal is to see if the chemo-free option works just as well at preventing cancer return while avoiding chemotherapy's harsh side effects.
