Summary

This study looked at whether a type of talk therapy called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) works for veterans who also have serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. 47 veterans took part to see if the therapy was acceptable and helpful. The goal was to learn more about how to better treat chronic pain in this group and to plan for a larger future study.
