Researchers track pain that lingers after chest surgery
NCT ID NCT05357963
Summary
This study aimed to understand how common long-term pain is after a specific type of chest surgery called a sternotomy, which is often used for heart operations. Researchers followed 200 patients for three months after their surgery to see who developed chronic pain and to look for possible reasons why it happens. The goal was to gather information to help future patients, not to test a new treatment.
