First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an ultrasound of the vocal cords can help predict choking or pneumonia risk in people who recently had a stroke. Researchers will check vocal cord movement with ultrasound and then follow 200 participants for one year to see who develops choking or lung infections. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to identify high-risk patients early.
