Old psychiatric drug repurposed in fight against deadly brain cancer

NCT ID NCT05190315

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether adding a low dose of an old psychiatric drug called chlorpromazine to the standard treatment for a fast-growing brain cancer (glioblastoma) is safe. Ten adults with newly diagnosed cancer received the drug combination alongside radiation and chemotherapy. The main goal was to find a safe dose and check for side effects, while also seeing if it might help delay the cancer's return.
