New numbing gel for kids could mean less pain during surgery

Summary
This study tested two different strengths of a numbing medicine called chloroprocaine in 164 children having hernia repair or flat foot surgery. The goal was to see if the medicine could block pain during the operation so children wouldn't need extra pain relief. The results will help doctors choose the best dose for children.
