Pesticide exposure may fuel prostate cancer in martinique men

NCT ID NCT06773806

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether exposure to chlordecone, a pesticide banned in 1993 but still present in the environment, is linked to prostate cancer in men from Martinique. Researchers will compare 3600 men with and without prostate cancer, measuring chlordecone levels in blood and through questionnaires. The goal is to understand if this chemical increases cancer risk, especially in Afro-Caribbean populations.
