New chin exercise may help stroke survivors swallow easier

Summary

This study tests a new swallowing exercise called direct chin-tuck against resistance (dCTAR) in people with swallowing problems after a stroke. Researchers will use ultrasound to see if the exercise strengthens throat muscles and improves how the voice box moves during swallowing. The study includes 60 healthy adults and stroke patients aged 18-90.
