First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests a new swallowing exercise called direct chin-tuck against resistance (dCTAR) in 60 healthy adults and stroke patients with swallowing problems. The exercise involves tucking the chin while pushing against resistance, which may help open the throat more during swallowing. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure muscle and throat movement before and after two weeks of training.
