Kids' hidden struggles after rare nerve disease revealed in new study
NCT ID NCT06940908
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study talks to children who had Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) two to five years ago to understand how they remember the illness and how they feel now. GBS is a rare nerve condition that can cause temporary paralysis, and while most kids recover physically, some still face tiredness, pain, or emotional challenges. Researchers will interview about 25 children aged 10 or older and screen for signs of depression, aiming to learn what factors affect their long-term well-being and how to better support them.
