New hope for starving kids: trial tests Life-Saving packages after hospital
NCT ID NCT05994742
Summary
This large, late-stage trial is testing two different support packages to help young children survive and regain health after being hospitalized for life-threatening severe malnutrition. It compares standard care against adding either a 12-week course of preventive antibiotics or a package of caregiver counseling and support groups. The goal is to reduce deaths, repeat hospitalizations, and failed recovery in the critical months after children leave the hospital.
