First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether finding and treating low-density malaria infections (infections with very few parasites) in children can improve their long-term health and reduce illness. Researchers followed 600 children in Tanzania, comparing those who received treatment for these hidden infections to those who did not. The goal was to see if this approach reduces sick visits and anemia, and improves growth.
