Can donated blood shield newborns from chikungunya brain damage?

Summary

This study tests whether giving newborns a plasma transfusion from a recent chikungunya survivor can prevent brain swelling or death. The trial will include 60 newborns whose mothers had chikungunya around the time of birth. Researchers will compare their outcomes to a group of 30 similar newborns who did not receive the plasma.
