Fiber from chicory root may boost gut health in melanoma survivors
NCT ID NCT07206017
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether eating dried chicory root (a high-fiber prebiotic) every day for 6 weeks can change gut bacteria and immune cells in 20 people who had surgery for stage II melanoma. Researchers want to see if it increases helpful substances called short-chain fatty acids. This is an early, exploratory study to gather information, not a treatment.
