X-ray vs. echo: can a quick scan save newborn hearts?
NCT ID NCT07520149
First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a standard chest X-ray can reliably detect congenital heart disease in newborns. Researchers will compare X-ray results with the gold-standard echocardiogram in 60 babies admitted to the NICU. If successful, chest X-rays could help doctors diagnose heart defects faster, especially when echocardiograms aren't immediately available.
