First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether a decision rule, which includes a high-sensitive troponin blood test, can help general practitioners safely rule out serious heart problems in people with new chest pain. Nearly 950 adults with chest pain took part. The goal was to see if this approach reduces unnecessary hospital referrals while still catching true heart attacks and major cardiac events.
