Chemo's hidden toll: taste loss and muscle wasting in gynecologic cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07154966

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study followed 102 women with ovarian, fallopian tube, or endometrial cancer to see how standard chemotherapy (carboplatin and paclitaxel) affects their sense of taste, muscle mass, and nutrition. Researchers measured these changes before treatment, after the third cycle, and after the sixth cycle using questionnaires and CT scans. The goal was to better understand these side effects, not to test a new treatment.
