New hope for leukemia patients: Chemo-Free treatment shows promise
NCT ID NCT04747912
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new chemotherapy-free treatment for adults with a specific type of leukemia called Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL). The treatment combines three drugs: inotuzumab ozogamicin, dasatinib, and dexamethasone. The goal is to see if this combination can help patients achieve complete remission faster and with fewer side effects than standard chemotherapy. The trial is currently recruiting 25 participants who have not yet received treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
inotuzumab ozogamicin (Besponsa) combined with dasatinib and dexamethasone
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a chemotherapy-free option for newly diagnosed Ph+ ALL, leading to faster and deeper remission without the harsh side effects of traditional chemo.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 25 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug combination may still cause side effects, and long-term safety and effectiveness are not yet known.
