New strategy aims to stop prostate cancer before it turns deadly

NCT ID NCT03258320

Summary

This study is testing if giving strong chemotherapy drugs before surgery can better control aggressive prostate cancer in men. The goal is to shrink the tumor and prevent it from becoming a harder-to-treat, resistant form of the disease. About 300 men with high-risk prostate cancer that hasn't spread will receive one of four chemotherapy drugs followed by surgery to remove the prostate.
