New study aims to protect black mothers' hearts after childbirth

Summary

This study compares two community-based programs designed to reduce heart disease risks in Black women after pregnancy. About 432 Black or African American women who are pregnant, have high blood pressure or obesity, and own a smartphone will take part. The goal is to see which program better helps control blood pressure and weight, and improves emotional support, in the first year after giving birth.
