New study tests if High-Tech monitors beat old finger pricks for diabetes control

NCT ID NCT05222815

Summary

This study aims to find out which method works better for managing type 2 diabetes: the traditional fingerstick blood sugar checks or newer continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). It involves 360 adults with type 2 diabetes who use insulin, assigned to one of the two monitoring methods through their regular primary care clinic. Researchers will track their blood sugar control and diabetes-related stress over 12 months to see which approach leads to better health outcomes.
