Smart monitor vs finger prick: which keeps diabetics out of hospital?

NCT ID NCT07221812

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) after leaving the hospital helps people with diabetes control their blood sugar better than the usual finger-stick method. About 120 adults with diabetes and high blood sugar will be randomly assigned to use either a CGM or finger sticks for 3 months after discharge. The goal is to see if CGMs reduce hospital readmissions and improve glucose levels.
