Wearable sensor could help millions avoid diabetes

NCT ID NCT07599072

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) for 3 months helps people with prediabetes improve blood sugar control and stick to healthy habits better than traditional finger-prick testing. About 80 adults with prediabetes, who are either on diet and exercise or a stable dose of metformin, will be randomly assigned to use a CGM or standard self-monitoring. The goal is to see if real-time feedback from the CGM leads to better glucose levels and lifestyle changes.
