NCT ID NCT07359170

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether having an emergency C-section versus a planned one affects a new mother's risk of early postpartum depression. Researchers will review medical records from 4000 women who gave birth at Massachusetts General Hospital. They will compare depression screening scores taken 6-8 weeks after delivery to see if the urgency of the C-section makes a difference. No new treatments or procedures are involved.
