New approach aims to stop dangerous bleeding after C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07188207

Summary

This study is testing if adding a medication called misoprostol, given as a rectal suppository, to the standard treatment (oxytocin) can better reduce blood loss during and after a planned cesarean section. It will compare two groups of women: one gets the standard treatment alone, and the other gets the standard treatment plus the rectal medication. The goal is to find a safe, effective, and affordable way to prevent dangerous postpartum bleeding, especially in areas with limited medical resources.
