First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study used MRI to look at the neck muscles of 158 people with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a type of arthritis that affects the spine. The goal was to measure muscle size, fat buildup, and spine alignment in the neck. Researchers compared these findings to people without AS to better understand how the disease affects the neck.
