First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving women a simple vaginal self-test kit to use at home would increase cervical cancer screening rates. Researchers recruited 656 women aged 50-65 in southern France who had not been screened in over three years. The goal was to see how many would accept and use the kit, and to understand what social or personal factors affect screening participation.
