New gel could shield organs during cervical cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07292818

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a gel can safely create space between the cervix and nearby organs during radiation therapy for cervical cancer. The goal is to protect healthy tissues like the rectum and bladder from radiation exposure, which may allow doctors to deliver a more effective dose to the tumor. Researchers will enroll 14 participants to see if the gel placement is practical and safe.
