New mammogram technique could cut false alarms for breast cancer

NCT ID NCT05046301

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special type of mammogram (contrast-enhanced mammography) can more accurately predict breast cancer in women with large, suspicious calcium spots found on standard mammograms. About 59 women will be enrolled to compare the new imaging with standard methods and check results against tissue samples. The goal is to reduce unnecessary biopsies and better identify true cancers.
