New cell prep method aims to tame transplant complications in kids
NCT ID NCT06393660
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study offers a special way to prepare donor stem cells for children and teens under 22 who need a transplant but lack a perfectly matched sibling donor. The method uses the CliniMACS® system to remove certain immune cells, which may help reduce the risk of graft-versus-host disease (a serious complication where donor cells attack the patient's body). The goal is to make the transplant safer and more effective for controlling transplant-related disorders.
