Could a simple scan replace invasive biopsies for celiac patients?

NCT ID NCT07453589

Summary

This study aims to see if a painless ultrasound scan of the gut, combined with a standard blood test, can accurately track the severity of celiac disease. Researchers want to find a less invasive way to monitor patients than the current method, which requires a biopsy. The study will involve 140 participants, including children and adults, who are newly diagnosed, already on a gluten-free diet, or at risk for the disease.
