New study aims to cut opioid use after face surgery
NCT ID NCT06505187
First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory) plus Tylenol can reduce the need for stronger opioid pain pills after a parotidectomy (salivary gland surgery). About 84 adults will receive either celecoxib or a placebo, along with Tylenol, and can take opioids if needed. The main goal is to see if the celecoxib group uses fewer opioids and has similar pain control.
